Donatiebeleid

Stichting Mehen steunt graag egyptologisch onderzoek met financiële bijdragen. Mehen biedt verschillende donaties en prijzen ter ondersteuning van onderzoekers en studenten van het oude Egypte.

LET OP! Het bestuur van Stichting Mehen behandelt in principe aan het einde van elk kwartaal de binnengekomen aanvragen. Zorg er daarom voor dat aanvragen zeker drie maanden voor de activiteit, waarvoor een donatie wordt gevraagd, bij Mehen binnen zijn.

Wees bewust van het feit dat het indienen van een aanvraag geen garantie biedt tot daadwerkelijke uitkering van het gevraagde bedrag. Daarnaast heeft het bestuur te allen tijde het recht om een afwijkend bedrag uit te keren aan de aanvrager.

Stichting Mehen biedt de volgende soorten donaties aan:

• Studentdonatie. Maximaal vijf (5) keer per jaar biedt Mehen BA/MA studenten (met een vakgebied gerelateerd aan het oude Egypte) een studentdonatie aan van maximaal € 500 per aanvraag. Denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan een studiebezoek, congresdeelname, of een deelname aan een opgraving in Egypte. Studenten met een link met Nederland (studie aan een Nederlandse universiteit, deelname aan een opgraving georganiseerd door Nederlandse instituten etc.) hebben voorrang op andere studenten.
• PhD-onderzoekdonatie/postdoc-onderzoekdonatie. PhD- en postdoc-onderzoekers kunnen bij Mehen tot maximaal € 1000 aanvragen voor een bijdrage aan het onderzoeksproject. Hieronder vallen bijvoorbeeld de reis- en verblijfskosten van een studiebezoek of de kosten van benodigd materiaal voor het project. Onderzoekers met een link met Nederland (studie aan een Nederlandse universiteit, deelname aan een opgraving georganiseerd door Nederlandse instituten etc.) genieten de voorkeur. Maximaal drie (3) onderzoekers per jaar komen in aanmerking.
• Veldwerkdonatie. Opgravingsprojectleiders kunnen bij Mehen tot maximaal € 2000 aanvragen ten behoeve van een, aan Egypte-gerelateerd, archeologisch onderzoeksproject. Maximaal drie (3) opgravingsprojecten komen in aanmerking.
• Publicatiedonatie. Mehen biedt een (1) keer per jaar een donatie tot maximaal € 1500 ter ondersteuning van een boekpublicatie waarin het oude Egypte centraal staat.
• Congresdonatie. Mehen biedt twee (2) keer per jaar een donatie tot maximaal € 1500 ter ondersteuning van workshops, congressen of andere evenementen over het oude Egypte. Onder de congresdonaties vallen bijvoorbeeld de printkosten van programmaboekjes, de reis- en verblijfskosten voor uitgenodigde sprekers of de huurkosten van de locatie van het evenement.
• Donatie voor een spreker op een congres. Mehen biedt vijf (5) keer per jaar een donatie tot maximaal € 500 ter ondersteuning van de kosten voor een spreker op een congres. Dit kunnen reis- of verblijfkosten zijn e/o inschrijfgeld.
• Activiteitdonatie. Mehen helpt ook graag kleinere evenementen of activiteiten met een link naar het oude Egypte uit de brand, bijvoorbeeld georganiseerd door een studenten-vereniging of een onderzoeksproject, met een maximaal aan te vragen bedrag van €150.

Het aanvragen van een donatie bij Mehen

De aanvraag moet bestaan ​​uit:
1. Een begeleidingsbrief met daarin:

a) de persoonlijke gegevens van de aanvrager,

b) het type/de naam van de activiteit,

c) de datum van de activiteit,

d) de locatie van de activiteit,

e) eventuele weblinks naar de website en/of sociale media van de activiteit,

f) het totale bedrag dat van Mehen wordt gevraagd,

g) de reden waarom Mehen wordt gevraagd om de activiteit mede te financieren (max. 1 pagina).

2. Een korte beschrijving van de activiteit (aard, thema’s, doelgroep, relevantie, etc.) (max. 1 pagina).

3. Een budgetoverzicht met daarin andere ontvangen of aangevraagde fondsen (max. 1 pagina).

4. Bewijs van inschrijving voor een bachelor- of masteropleiding (mag apart worden ingediend).

5. Bewijs van deelname aan de activiteit (mag apart worden ingediend).

Na het invullen van dit aanvraagformulier kunt u het als een (1) pdf-document naar studiecentrummehen@outlook.com sturen.

Het pdf-document moet vóór de deadline worden ingediend. Anders wordt het niet meegenomen in de volgende bestuursvergadering.

DEADLINES VOOR AANVRAGEN
Deadlines voor aanvragen zijn 28 februari, 31 mei, 31 augustus en 30 november
Bestuursvergaderingen worden in maart, juni, september en december gehouden.

Een aanvrager mag slechts één aanvraag voor een donatie per kalenderjaar indienen.

Mehen dient tijdens de loop van het project erkend te worden als sponsor door Mehen te benoemen als sponsor en, waar kan, door gebruik van het Mehen-logo.

Na afronding van het project waarvoor de donatie is aangevraagd, verwacht Mehen het volgende:

• een financiële eindverantwoording moet binnen zes (6) maanden na het afronden van het project bij Mehen ontvangen zijn;
• een eindpublicatie (in de vorm van een artikel of verslag in het Mehen Nieuws, in het Mehen-boek en/of voor Mehen’s sociale media) in overleg met Mehen;
• (indien mogelijk) een (online) lezing over het project.

REGELS EN VOORWAARDEN

1. Student Donation

Up to five (5) times per year, Mehen offers BA/MA students (with a field of study related to ancient Egypt) a student donation of up to €500 per request. For example, a study visit, conference participation (non-speaker), or participation in an excavation in Egypt. Students with a link to the Netherlands (study at a Dutch university, participation in an excavation organized by Dutch institutes, etc.) have priority over other students.

Application

The application (see page 2) must consist of:

1. A cover letter that includes 1) the personal details of the applicant, 2) the type/name of the activity, 3) the date of the activity, 4) the location of the activity, 5) any weblinks to the activity’s website and/or social media, 6) the total amount requested from Mehen, and 7) why Mehen is asked to help fund the activity ( 1 page).
2. A brief description of the activity (nature, themes, audience, relevance, etc.) ( 1 page).
3. A budget table which includes other funds received or applied for (max 1 page).
4. Proof of enrolment in a BA or MA study (may be sent separately).
5. Proof of participation in the activity (may be sent separately).

2. PhD Research Donation/Postdoc Research Donation PhD and postdoc researchers can apply to Mehen for a contribution to their research project up to a maximum of €1000. This includes, for example, travel and accommodation costs for a study visit or the costs of materials required for the project. Researchers with a link to the Netherlands (study at a Dutch university, participation in an excavation organised by Dutch institutes, etc.) are given preference. A maximum of three (3) researchers per year are eligible. 3. Fieldwork Donation

Excavation project leaders can apply to Mehen for up to €2000 for an Egypt-related archaeological research project. A maximum of three (3) excavation projects per year are eligible.

Application

A cover letter that includes 1) the personal details of the applicant, 2) the name of the fieldwork project, 3) the running date(s) of the fieldwork project, 4) the leader(s) of the fieldwork project, 5) any weblinks to the fieldwork’s website and/or social media, 6) the total amount requested from Mehen, and 7) why Mehen is asked to help fund the fieldwork ( 1 page).
2. A brief description of the fieldwork project (nature, themes, audience, relevance, etc.) ( 2 pages*).

4. Publication Donation

Mehen offers a donation of up to €1500 once a year to support a book publication focusing on ancient Egypt.

5. Conference Donation

Mehen offers two (2) times a year a donation of up to €1500 to support workshops, conferences or other events about ancient Egypt. The conference donations include, for example, the printing costs of program booklets, the travel and accommodation costs for invited speakers or the rental costs of the venue of the event.

1. A cover letter that includes 1) the personal details of the applicant, 2) the name of the event, 3) the date of the event, 4) the location of the event, 5) the intended audience, 6) any weblinks to the event’s website and/or social media, 7) the total amount requested from Mehen, and 8) why Mehen is asked to help with the event ( 1 page).

6. Conference Speaker Donation

Mehen offers five (5) times a year a donation of up to €500 to support the costs of a speaker (PhD-student, postdoc, independent researcher) at a conference. This can be travel or accommodation costs and/or registration fee. The applicant must be accepted as a speaker of the respective conference to be eligible. NB: Due to the high number of applications, only ONE conference speaker donation application can be honoured per quarter.
